The most nature-loving of the Satyrs, the Hunting Satyr revels in the power of the Feminine. At his core, he’s like Poseidon, the god of the sea who wielded a trident and had many consorts.
With less intense Masculine energy than the Fighting Satyr, the Hunting Satyr is more laid-back.
His natural strength is exploring his world.
Rather than being the man who makes things happen through force of will, he’s the man who discovers what’s happening through exploration. He’s naturally curious, and interested in what’s new.
Because he’s both alert and a bit reserved, he can seem sly at times. But it’s this slight reserve that makes him a steady presence, and keeps him from taking foolish risks.
What matters most to him is strong Feminine.
He likes being in the forest or on the water, where Mother Nature is in evidence. He’s fond of Nymphs, and may pair off with a strong-willed one.
His affinity for the Feminine also makes him good with people in general. He’s a natural ambassador who likes to encounter new situations, meet new people, and win them over.
He looks hale and hearty.
The Hunting Satyr will have alert eyes and a composed air. His aspect is both relaxed and energetic.
He may enjoy team sports, but he’s not intensely competitive. He likes being active outdoors, doing things like biking, hiking, swimming, etc. Mark Foley, professional fly fishing guide, is a good example of a Hunting Satyr.
